2007 Supercars - Chrysler Sebring Limited

From D.Chrysler Press, Chrysler is creating inspiration in the common car, introducing the 2007 Chrysler Sebring supercars— an all-new mid-size sedan that combines stunning design with interior craftsmanship, high-levels of safety and reliability, exhilarating performance, excellent fuel efficiency of 32 miles per gallon and many class-leading technologies not available in the mid-size segment. And with a starting U.S. MSRP of $18,995 (including a $675 destination charge), the all-new Sebring also comes at a surprisingly affordable price.

“The all-new 2007 Chrysler Sebring sustains the momentum started by the blockbuster hit Chrysler 300 and continued with the Dodge Caliber,” said George Murphy, Senior Vice President – Global Marketing. “Just as the 300 redefined the large-car segment and signaled the return of the great American car, Chrysler Sebring combines the levels of reliability and durability that mid-size buyers demand with unexpected levels of style, craftsmanship, technology and affordable performance.”

The 2007 Chrysler Sebring will be available in U.S. dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2006 and in global volume markets in the first half of 2007.

Strikingly Beautiful Design
Inspired by the 2003 Chrysler Airflite concept vehicle that was revealed at the Geneva motor show, the all-new Chrysler Sebring’s elegant lines evoke the exterior styling features of the Chrysler vehicle, bringing the Chrysler brand’s expressive design attributes to the mid-size segment.

“Sleek and sophisticated, the Chrysler Sebring’s overall surfacing and details reflect the Chrysler brand’s four design attributes: expressive, refined, agile and passionate,” said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President – Design. “Sebring’s elegant styling provides a clear alternative to European and Japanese competition.”

Chrysler Sebring features the distinctive face of the Chrysler brand, with the Chrysler signature grille, a uniquely sculptured hood, large, distinctive quad headlamps and available fog lamps.

Sebring has an elegant profile, with a long hood profile, chrome beltline molding and long roofline. High-gloss black appliques on the B-pillars enhance the length of the Sebring’s greenhouse. Sculptured character lines running along the body accentuate Sebring’s athletic stance.

The expressive character of the vehicle continues at the rear where Sebring’s wide tail lamps are integrated into both the rear quar
ters and extend into the deck lid for visual impact. Rear fog lamps mounted in the backup lamps maintain a uniform appearance between domestic and export vehicles.

World-class Craftsmanship
The elegance found in Sebring’s exterior styling also runs through the vehicle’s interior, which features a modern, clean appearance with intense focus on quality, detail and execution.

“Chrysler Sebring’s interior takes a different direction from many of the current mid-size sedans on the road. Its form is inspired by the Chrysler uplifted winged badge motif and incorporates new and fresh decorative elements,” Creed added.

Sebring’s finely crafted interior features soft surfaces, mechanical grains and selective gloss levels on the interior surfaces.

From the driver’s seat, Sebring’s H-point is 2.54 inches (64.6 mm) higher than the vehicle it replaces, giving drivers a command-
of-the-road seating position. Standard 60/40 fold-flat rear seats make room for more gear, and an available fold-flat passenger seat creates a table-like surface that enhances the versatility of Sebring’s interior.

All Chrysler Sebring models feature a two-tone interior color theme of dark and lighter shades of Pastel Slate Gray or Pastel Pebble Beige, which provides a spacious and well-appointed look. The Chrysler Sebring Limited model also features an exclusive two-tone Cream and Pebble Beige interior with leather seats. The Chrysler Sebring Limited’s available upscale accent materials and finishes include Tortoise Shell, Satin Silver, Alloy Silver and Chrome.

Purposeful Technology That Makes Life Easier and Safer
In addition to Chrysler Sebring’s upscale design and elegant use of materials, this all-new sedan brings new levels of function and technology to the U.S. mid-size car segment.

“Chrysler Sebring features a slew of new technological features not typically found or expected in a mid-size car,” said David Rooney, Director – Chrysler Marketing and Global Communications. “These features make life easier and safer for the driver and passengers, while making the overall driving experience much more enjoyable for all.”

The 2007 Chrysler Sebring features MyGIG™, a cutting-edge information, entertainment and safety navigation audio system that raises the bar on in-vehicle communications (late availability). This best-in-class, next-generation navigation radio features a 6.5-inch Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Display with a touch-screen panel that can support 65,000 colors, providing a three-dimensional appearance to graphics and animation, as well as multiple font sizes and styles. The MyGIG system follows voice-activated commands and includes many new features for music, sound, movies and personalized picture displays.

SIRIUS® Satellite Radio, which provides customers with more than 125 channels of the best music, entertainment and information coast-to-coast, 24 hours a day. This includes 100 percent commercial-free music, as well as sports, news, talk, entertainment, traffic and weather

UConnect®
Hands-free Communication System that uses Bluetooth® technology to provide voice-activated wireless communication between the occupants’ compatible cell phones and the vehicle’s onboard receiver. The hands-free option promotes safety, freedom, value and flexibility.

In addition to MyGIG, the 2007 Chrysler Sebring also offers a unique combination of features not available on other mid-size competitors.

Safety and security are a top priority among mid-size car buyers in the United States, and the all-new 2007 Chrysler Sebring offers a unique combination of class-leading safety features that are designed to keep occupants both safe and secure. Sebring’s safety cage is constructed with dual-phase, high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel components designed to protect occupants in all driving situations. Sebring’s extremely strong safety cage is complemented with a combination of standard safety items demanded by buyers in the mid-size segment.

Exhilarating Performance With Excellent Fuel Efficiency
Three engine optio
ns power the 2007 Chrysler Sebring sold in the United States: the new standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder World Engine, an available 2.7-liter V-6 engine and an available 3.5-liter V-6 engine coupled with a new six-speed automatic transaxle with Auto Stick.

Fuel economy is a high-priority for many of today’s car buyers, and the 2007 Chrysler Sebring, with its standard four-cylinder engine rivals the best in the mid-size car segment. Sebring's 2.4-liter World Engine with dual variable valve timing delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency in the city of 24 miles per gallon (mpg), an excellent 32 mpg on the highway, as well as smooth, quiet operation. Mated to a four-speed automatic transaxle, this new engine provides a 15 percent increase in horsepower (173 horsepower vs. 150 horsepower) and an 8 percent improvement in fuel economy compared with the 2.4-liter engine it replaces.

An available, Flexible Fuel (FFV) 2.7-liter V-6 engine provides value- and performance-conscious consumers the power of a V-6 engine with a price that compares with the competitions’ four-cylinder engines. Chrysler Sebring's available 2.7-liter V-6 engine produces 189 horsepower and 191 lb.-ft. of torque, providing more low-end torque (at an rpm 850 lower) compared with the 2.7-liter engine it replaces. This 2.7-liter V-6 engine achieves 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. It also can operate effectively on any blend of gasoline and fuel-grade ethanol up to E-85.

Chrysler Sebring Limited sedans sold in the United States also are available with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 235 horsepower and 232 lb.-ft. of torque coupled with a new six-speed automatic transaxle that comes standard with Auto Stick. The combination of the upgraded 3.5L V6 engine and six-speed automatic transaxle delivers excellent performance and fuel efficiency, as well as smooth quiet operation.

The 2007 Chrysler Sebring is one of the first Chrysler Group vehicles to offer this new six-speed automatic transaxle, which provides quicker standing-start acceleration than a four- or five-speed transaxle because of its numerically higher first gear ratio. A more robust differential with increased torque capacity enhances launch performance by requiring less torque management, electronically limiting the torque that is available during the initial stages of standing-start acceleration. Smaller steps between ratios also make for a smoother, quieter ride, as the engine speed doesn’t change as often with each shift. In addition, more ratio choices, more appropriate ratios for quicker acceleration and a lower overall top gear ratio provide a quiet ride and improved fuel economy at highway speeds.

For the first time in the mid-size car segment, the Chrysler Group also will offer a state-of-the-art 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine on the Chrysler Sebring for key diesel markets outside North America. The diesel engine will deliver excellent performance and fuel economy, with an estimated 140 horsepower DIN (103 kW) and 229 lb.-ft. (310 Nom) of torque.

“The all-new 2007 Chrysler Sebring’s performance, fuel economy and overall driving experience is extremely competitive with the best in its class,” said Larry Lyons, Vice President – Front-wheel-drive Product Team.

Elevating Expectations
In the United States, Chrysler Sebring is designed to appeal to 35-55-year-old buyers who are married and have a median income of approximately $65,000. Fifty-five percent are female, and 60 percent are college educated. Many have small families with one or two children. These mid-size car buyers are down-to-earth and conservative, yet open-minded, self-confident and have a passion for life. Middle and upper-middle class, they lead active lives, and they have a true sense of style. Their self image is grounded in their accomplishments and future prospects. Chrysler Sebring’s elegant and sophisticated design, packaged with interior craftsmanship and essential levels of reliability, meets the needs of these customers who want more than just practicality.

Chrysler Sebring Model Lineup

Mitsubishi Galant 2007 Ralliart

The high-performance 2007 Galant Ralliart model at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show has been introduced by Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA). Powered by a 258-hp 3.8-liter V-6 engine and equipped with sport suspension, 18-inch wheels and exclusive exterior styling and interior features, the new Ralliart model supercarsspearheads the restyled Galant midsize sedan line for 2007.

The 2007 Galant supercar models arrive in Mitsubishi dealerships this summer. The revised styling of all 2007 Galant models is highlighted by a sop
histicated new front-end treatment. Interior design and materials have been enhanced, and ride and handling have been refined to provide greater comfort and a more engaging driving experience. Standard side curtain air bags have been added to the comprehensive safety package, which also includes advanced front air bags with occupant sensors and front seat-mounted side-impact air bags.

"The 2007 Galant Ralliart makes a resounding statement about Mitsubishi's "Driven to Thrill" performance and design with its a bold, modern, and a uniquely Mitsubishi interpretation of what a midsize performance sedan should be," said Dave Schembri, executive vice president for sales and marketing for Mitsubishi Motors North America. "The Galant Ralliart shows the direction that we're taking both the Galant -- and the brand."

Capable of accelerating from zero-to-60 mph in about seven seconds, the 2007 Galant Ralliart will challenge some of the best sport sedans while delivering renowned Mitsubishi value.

New Styling, New Choices. All Galant models for 2007 are identified by an updated, more sophisticated front end design featuring a new grille with chrome surround, plus a new front fascia and new bumper. The rear bumper fascia is also revised in line with the front appearance. The Galant Ralliart is distinguished by a sport mesh grille two-tone color bumpers, color-key side air dams, 18-inch alloy wheels and Ralliart badges. Its front end also stands apart from other Galant models with projector-style four-bulb ellipsoid headlamps.

With the arrival of the Galant

Ralliart for 2007, the GTS model assumes a more luxury-leaning role in the lineup, in place of the previous LS model. The Galant DE and ES models are powered by a 160-hp MIVEC-enhanced 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine teamed to a four-speed automatic transmission with Sportonic(R), which enables manual shift control when desired.

Ralliart: A Complete Grand Touring Performance Package. Galant Ralliart has the heart of a high-performance GT car - the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, to be precise. Its 3.8-liter V-6 produces 258 hp at 5,700 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,500 rpm, making it one of the most powerful import brand sport sedans in the segme

nt. The Mitsubishi Innovative Valv

e Timing Electronic Control system (MIVEC) helps optimize power and engine efficiency across a broad engine speed range. As an example of MIVEC's benefits, the large-displacement V-6 is already producing 220 lb.-ft. of torque at just 2,000 rpm, giving the Galant Ralliart "right now" off-the-line response.

The Galant Ralliart V-6 is matched to a new five-speed automatic transmission that features Sportronic. The GTS continues with a 230-hp version of the 3.8-liter V-6 and also gains the new five speed automatic transmission with Sportronic.

The Galant Ralliart features its own, higher-rate springs and dampers and is exclusively equipped with a 21-mm rear stabilizer bar. The Ralliart's 235/45R-18 all-season tires are mounted to 18 x 8-inch 7-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.

Inside, Galant Ralliart combines exclusive design and luxurious equipment, including standard perforated leather-trimmed seating surfaces, heated front seats, an automatic climate control system, a power glass sunroof with sunshade and Homelink(TM) transmitter with auto- dimming rear view mirror. Aluminum pedals and Micro-delta print accent panels further distinguish the Ralliart interior.

Mitsubishi is the first auto manufacturer to factory-install the Rockford Acoustic Design(TM) premium audio system, making it standard equipment on the 2007 Galant Ralliart. This high-end audio system - one of the most advanced on the market - provides AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback capability, including a 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The linear 8-channel amplifier produces 360 watts continuous at less than 0.02% THD. A dedicated channel drives each loudspeaker for the ultimate in sonic control. Silk dome tweeters mounted on the leading edge of the dash produce a natural multi-dimensional soundstage. Digital Signal Processing optimizes output to provide user-selectable listening environments, including "Normal," "Studio," "Club" and "Concert."

The Rockford Acoustic Design(TM) premium audio system is also available for Galant ES and GTS. Mitsubishi's partnership with Rockford began in 2006 with the Rockford-Fosgate(TM) Punch audio system offered in the Eclipse coupe (and now standard in the 2007 Eclipse Spyder).

The good sounds continue in Galant Ralliart with the standard SIRIUS(TM) satellite radio package with six months' free subscription. This package, too, is available for the ES and GTS models. A new DVD navigation system with 7-inch touch screen is available as a factory option on the Galant Ralliart and GTS models.

Galant Ralliart without the optional navigation system features a standard 4.9-inch color LCD display that provides outside temperature and a compass, as well as a trip computer with fuel mileage information, a door alarm indicator, maintenance recorder, and calendar. The display also provides an interface that allows owners to customize many of the vehicle's interior functions.

Robust Platform for Sporty Driving

Mitsubishi designed all Galant models to provide a sporty driving experience. Tweaking the body structure for greater rigidity enhances ride and handling in all Galant models for 2007. For the Ralliart model, the enhanced structure provides the ideal base for the exclusive sport suspension tuning and 18-inch alloy wheels with low-profile tires.

The proven MacPherson strut design front suspension system attaches to a sub-frame with a large, rigid cross member for responsive handling and reduced noise, vibration and harshness. The low-mounted, multi-link rear suspension features stiff hydro-formed cross members that minimize flex and help reduce road noise.

The Galant DE and ES models ride on standard 16-inch wheels with 215/60R16 tires; the GTS steps up to 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55R17 tires. Ralliart and GTS models feature a standard tire pressure monitoring system, which is included in the optional Sport Package for the Galant ES model.

All Galant models are equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, with the GTS and Ralliart featuring larger front discs. The Ralliart in addition features larger rear discs. An anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) is standard on all Galant models, except the DE.

Enhanced Refinement for 2007. Galant provides a roomy midsize package with 101.1 cu. ft. of passenger space and a generous 37 inches of rear legroom - more room than the MazdaSpeed 6 or Volkswagen Jetta GLI sport sedans. For 2007, new door trim, a new knit-fabric headliner, new steering wheel design and chrome trim details convey a more upscale appearance. New seat trim and color choices provide a warmer interior feeling than before.

Premium Comfort, Great Value. Customers can infuse the Galant ES with some of the style and comfort of the V-6 Galant models by ordering the optional Sport Package and Premium Package. The Sport Package adds head-turning style with 16-inch alloy wheels, dark bezel halogen headlamps, crystal covered ellipsoid rear lamps, and a color-keyed rear spoiler. Inside, the package equips the ES model with the Rockford Acoustic Design premium audio system and the SIRIUS satellite radio package with six months free subscription.

The ES Premium Package brings in leather-trimmed seating surfaces, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, power glass sunroof with sunshade, auto-dimming rear view mirror with Homelink transmitter and additional trim details. The Sun and Sound option package for the Galant GTS essentially combines those two packages and adds an anti-theft alarm.

All Galant models are built at Mitsubishi's manufacturing plant in Normal, Illinois, which also builds the Eclipse coupe and Eclipse Spyder and the Endeavor sport-utility vehicle. Mitsubishi cars and sport utility vehicles are backed by a comprehensive new-vehicle limited warranty that covers the vehicle from bumper to bumper for five years/60,000 miles. In addition, the powertrain is covered by a 10-year/100,000 mile limited warranty, while body panels have a seven-year/100,000 mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty.

The program also includes 24-hour emergency roadside assistance with free towing to the nearest authorized Mitsubishi retailer for warranty-related repairs for five years/unlimited miles. You can look for any other hot supercars in the sidebar.

Mitsubishi Eclipse (Spyder GT)

Mitsubishi supercar unveiled the all-new 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. Based on the fourth-generation Eclipse coupe introduced in 2005, the new Eclipse Spyder GT combines "Driven to Thrill" design and performance with a high-tech convertible top and outstanding value.

Designed to appeal to convertible and sports car enthusiasts of all ages, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT echoes the concept-car design of its coupe sibling with sleek, taut, muscular lines and engaging details such as bright finish LED tail lamps and monocle-lens head lamps. "The new Eclipse Spyder GT captures the essence of Mitsubishi by offering
customers a stand-out design and performance at an affordable price," said Rich Gilligan, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America. "Its high-quality automatic top makes Eclipse Spyder GT a convertible for all seasons and is more like a top you would expect to see on a $40,000 car than one that starts at under $26,000."

The Eclipse Spyder GT challenges more expensive sports models with its 260-horsepower, 3.8-liter V6 engine mated to either a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional five-speed automatic. The GT's 258 lb-ft of peak torque gives this model "right now" off-the-line response. With the standard six-speed manual transmission, the Spyder GT can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about seven seconds.

Premium-Level Automatic Top. Perhaps most impressive about the Eclipse Spyder GT's automatic top is that it folds completely out of sight under a flush-fitting powered tonneau cover in 19 seconds. This premium-level design eliminates a visible top stack that gives some convertibles a "baby buggy" look.

The Spyder GT's top is made of cloth, compared to vinyl used on some cars in this price segment. Its advanced multi-layer construction includes a full headliner to provide the quiet, snug interior feeling of a coupe when it is raised. When raised, the top design lends the Eclipse a distinctive "chopped" speedster appearance. The top is designed to resist "ballooning" at highway speed, and the glass rear window features a defroster.

Interior Design Worth Showing Off. Mitsubishi designers in Cypress, California, recognized that many convertible owners expect interior styling to be attractive in its own right - something to enhance pride of ownership when driving top-down. To that end, the 2007 Eclipse Spyder GT's "attainable exotic" design theme continues inside. The wave-form instrument panel houses easy-to-reach controls and features distinctive motorcycle-inspired gauges and ice-blue nighttime illumination.

Ready to Rock. Underscoring the Eclipse Spyder GT's "Driven to Thrill" mission and value, both models feature as standard a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate premium audio system with a six-disc, in-dash CD changer that can play MP3 CDs. The system has been specifically engineered for the Eclipse Spyder GT and provides unique automatic sound equalization for top-up or top-down driving. The eight-inch subwoofer is integrated into the rear seat area as a design element.

The Eclipse Spyder GT's optional Premium Sport Package lives up to its "premium" label by equipping this model with 18-inch alloy wheels and 235/45 R18 tires, a six-way power driver's seat, leather seating surfaces, aluminum pedals, automatic climate control system, heated front seats and heated exterior mirrors.

Supercars 2007 - Saab Rinspeed 9-5 Concept (BioPower)

These news supercars from GM press, Environmentally friendly supercars will be all the talk at 2007's International Motor Show in Geneva. Saab supercar is showing how vision and reality can be brought together with its "9-5 BioPower Rinspeed", a collaborative project with Rinspeed. The model comes with a bioethanol engine and is proof that it is already possible to achieve a huge reduction in fossil fuel CO2 emissions without having to do without a fun drive.

Glattbrugg. The recently rele
ased UN climate report is unambiguous in its findings: human behavior is contributing significantly to global warming. Reducing CO2 emissions is becoming an issue of prime importance, and will also be one of the central focal points at the Geneva Motor Show. However, environmentally friendly driving is no longer the stuff of the future. At the last Motor Show, Saab presented BioPower, a vehicle that runs on E85 (85 % bioethanol and 15 % gasoline). Once again, Saab assumed its role as a pioneer in the area of environmentally conscious driving, proving that environmentally friendly technologies can easily be combined with unmitigated fun behind the wheel.

Vision and Reality brought Together. Saab supercar is going one step further at this year's Geneva Motor Show. At stand 5030, visitors can marvel at an extremely successful combination of vision and reality: the “Saab 9-5 BioPower Rinspeed“. Looking at the modified Saab BioPower, every visitor is struck immediately by its gleaming chrome-yellow enamel finish. The lower riding Saab special model has been fitted out with materials that were specially designed for the Rinspeed “eXasis“ concept car. (eXasis was the first transparent high-tech plastic car, which like the Saab BioPower, is equipped with a bioethanol engine.) Thus, the Saab BioPower Rinspeed gleams with the innovative application
of an aluminized glass fiber material with a diamond-shape design. The diamond pattern is continued in the seat cover
s. The interior also fits the overall innovative impression, with modern covers made from a material containing Technogel tabs. Speed yellow seatbelts and a new glass fiber dash make the transformation of the Saab BioPower perfect.

Saab’s Environmentally Friendly and Sports Special Models. The Saab BioPower Rinspeed and the above-mentioned eXasis are amazing vehicles. The eXasis represents a concept presented by Rinspeed to celebrate the company’s thirty years in business. With the eXasis, Rinspeed introduces a supercar that can achieve a power of 150 HP with an environmentally friendly engine. The parallels with the 180 HP sporty and environmentally friendly Saab BioPower were the motivation behind this cooperation between two tradition-minded companies.

Under the motto “60 years of turbocharged thinking“, Saab is also celebrating an anniversary in 2007. Saab is offering a special "Anniversary Edition" to mark this occasion. However, above all, Saab remains committed to continuing along the path it has already trodden towards environmentally friendly vehicles with sporty performance. In a world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, Saab is unveiling the new 9-3 Saab BioPower. This car will be available in Switzerland from the Fall of 2007, and is an ideal complement to the Saab 9-5 BioPower.
Saab is committed to thinking the idea of the reduced- CO2 vehicle through to its logical conclusion. With the “Saab 9-5 BioPower100 Concept“, Saab is presenting a vehicle at the Motor Show that can run on 100 % bioethanol. Saab thus continues to exemplify the company’s philosophy of focusing on the individual and the environment. You can look for any other hot supercars in the sidebar.

2007 Cadillac Shanghai GM SLS

2007 Cadillac supercar has enjoyed remarkable success since its introduction to the China luxury market supercars in 2004.

The Cadillac China portfolio, consisting of the CTS sedan, the XLR roadster and the SRX crossover, will now be complimented with the all-new SLS and the Escalade SUV. Based on the
STS sport sedan, the SLS has been lengthened by 100mm to add rear seat legroom.

The interior of supercar is designed to meet specific local needs in this primarily chauffeur-driven luxury segment. Three engine options will be available which include the 2.8L V6, a 3.6L V6 and the top-level Northstar 4.6L V8 with 239kW/320hp.

The new 2007 SLS supercar will be built at the Shanghai GM plant for the Chinese market. The Cadillac SLS supercar is a very important addition to our line-up in China as it meets very specific market needs, said Jim Taylor, general manager of Cadillac supercars.

"Cadillac reacts to country specific requirements and is proud to offer the SLS to Chinese luxury customers who demand extra space in the rear and other features."

Earlier this year, Cadillac supercars introduced the new BLS sedan in Europe and other international markets to satisfy the need for a smaller Cadillac model and a turbodiesel engine option.

The 2007 Cadillac supercar (SLS) is a strategic addition for the Cadillac brand in China, which will enable Cadillac to strengthen its presence in the luxury sedan market, said Mr. Ding Lei, president of Shanghai GM. The new Cadillac SLS and Escalade as well as the new offering from Wuling will strengthen our position as the market leader in China. 2007 Supercars - Dodge Caliber SRT4

New 2007 supercars, Dodge Caliber SRT4 has come. This is from (DC) DaimlerChrysler Press, Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) group takes its ultimate-performance reputation to new heights with the introduction of the all-new 223 kW (303 hp DIN) Dodge Caliber SRT4 supercars.

For Europe and other markets outside North America, the Dodge Caliber SRT4 supercars will be available beginning in late 2007. Thanks to its true “tuner performance” right out of
the box and a great price, enthusiasts in the USA immediately took to the original Neon-based Dodge SRT4, which was introduced in 2003 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. In the 2003-2005 model years, more than 25,000 Dodge SRT4s were sold. “The all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4 achieves the SRT mission of offering benchmark performance for the best price,” said George Murphy, Senior Vice President – Global Marketing, Chrysler Group. “With over 300 horsepower under the hood, the Dodge Caliber SRT4 will dominate the sport-compact market.” “We couldn’t wait to infuse Dodge Caliber with the SRT formula and bring it to a European and international audience,” said Murphy. “The Dodge supercars Caliber SRT4 delivers a strong dose of all-round performance while delivering more than 28 miles per gallon on the highway in U.S. tests. Our new SRT pocket rocket is going to be a hoot to drive.”

Street and Racing Technology, Since its inception in 2002, SRT has introduced 12 extreme-performance vehicles, including the Viper-powered Dodge Ram SRT10 regular cab and Quad Cab™, Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Coupe and Roadster, Chrysler 300C SRT8 saloon and Touring, Dodge Magnum SRT8, Dodge Charger SRT8, Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe and Roadster and Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT8 supercars.

Every SRT vehicle showcases five key aspects:
• Exterior styling that resonates with the brand image
• Race-inspired interiors
• World-class ride and handling characteristics across a dynamic range
• Benchmark braking
• Standout powertrains

Functional, Performance-oriented Exterior Design

Because there is only one chance to make a first impression, the all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4 supercar makes the most of it with muscular exterior styling.

“From the very first sketches of the all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4, we wanted an aggressive, SRT-signature look,” said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President – Design. “For example, because the intercooler is positioned so high behind the front grille, we moved the fascia slightly forward and extended the walls of the grille. The result is a much more aggressive look than the standard Dodge Caliber.”

An all-new 2007 front fascia below the signature Dodge crosshair grille incorporates functional performance features including ducts that dire
ct air to cool the brakes and a wide centre inlet that provides air flow to the radiator. Fog lamps are also set into the fascia, alongside the brake ducts. The Dodge Caliber SRT4’s bonnet incorporates a functional scoop that brings cooling air into the engine compartment and a pair of extractors that exhaust hot air.

“Exterior design that works as well as it looks is a requirement for all SRT vehicles,” said Creed. “The hood design had to include the functionality of bringing cool air in and getting hot air out.”

The lowest portion of this 2007 supercar, Dodge Caliber SRT4’s fascia, which acts as an air dam to direct air around the front of the vehicle, wraps around to visually integrate with the radiussed wheel wells and lower side-sill mouldings.

The rear fascia continues the muscular, functional character of SRT vehicles, with lower vertical strakes that direct underbody air flow out the back of the ve
hicle, contributing to more stability at high speed. A single, 8.9cm (3.5 in.) exhaust tail pipe exits from the right side of the fascia.

Aerodynamic efficiency is also aided by an integrated spoiler above the rear tailgate glass, which incorporates the centre high-mounted stop light (CHMSL). This spoiler, which is nearly 60 per cent larger than that on the standard Dodge Caliber, is tuned for smoother air flow and to generate downforce while maximising the rear view.

Four exterior colours will be available on the all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4: Brilliant Black, Sunburst Orange, Bright Silver and Inferno Red.

Race-inspired Interior Appointments

In the “business office” of the five-door Dodge Caliber SRT4, a new interpretation of traditional SRT themes is carried out.

“The Dodge Caliber interior is unique with sophisticated and contemporary appointments,” said Creed. “When we enhanced it with SRT cues, we followed design themes that had been successful with the previous Dodge SRT4, including the graphic design of the instruments, separate boost gauge, and silver finish on the centre stack and interior trim. “Overall, our strategy was to infuse the interior with performance-oriented enhancements to complement the Dodge Ca
liber SRT4’s aggressive exterior,” Creed added.

Unique SRT supercar touches include sport seating with pronounced bolstering and performance fabric inserts to hold occupants during spirited driving, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with a “carbon fibre” pattern on the upper portion. The seats, steering wheel and leather gear-shift boot feature contrasting stitching. Also unique to the Dodge Caliber SRT4 is an “alloy silver” finish on the instrument panel and shift bezel, and bright aluminium pedal pads that feature rubber studs for enhanced grip.

The centre-stack-mounted gear shift lever includes a lift ring to engage reverse, unique to the Dodge Caliber SRT4, as well as a leather-finished shift knob.

The instrument panel features three gauge “tunnels” outfitted with performance-oriented instrumentation, including a tachometer, 260 km/h (160 mph) speedometer, and water-temperature and fuel gauges. A turbocharger boost gauge is located on the left side of the instrument panel (and on the right side of the instrument panel for right-hand-drive models).

For the enjoyment of audiophiles, the Dodge Caliber SRT4 is equipped with a standard AM-FM radio with a multi-disc CD changer. An available SRT/Kicker high-performance audio system boasts up to 13 speakers in seven locations, powered by a 322-watt amplifier and 100-watt subwoofer.

The interior upholstery and trim of the Dodge Caliber SRT4 is offered in Dark/Light Slate Gray.

World-class Ride and Handling

Another hallmark of SRT’s balanced approach to performance is ride and handling characteristics that make a smooth transition from street to track.

The 2007 Dodge Caliber SRT4 rides on SRT-unique 19-inch cast aluminium wheels with 225/45R19 W-rated Goodyear tyres. Wheel hubs and bearings on all four corners are adapted from Chrysler Group mid-size cars for strength.

Upgrades to the standard Dodge Caliber’s MacPherson strut front suspension include new suspension knuckles and tuned dampers with revised spring rates. Unique front and rear anti-roll bars keep body roll to a minimum during hard cornering.

The standard-fit Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) is uniquely calibrated for the Dodge Caliber SRT4 to provide excellent directional stability in all driving modes. In addition, stability is enhanced with a ride height 1.3cm (0.5 in.) lower than the standard Dodge Caliber.

Rack-and-pinion power steering is tuned to produce easier low-speed manoeuvring, without compromising performance at speed. The overall steering ratio is 16.6:1.

Benchmark Braking

Benchmark braking is another ingredient in SRT’s performance recipe.

Although it is a C-segment car, the Dodge Caliber SRT4 benefits from braking-system components designed for much larger, heavier cars. For example, front brake callipers were sourced from a premium brake system developed for the Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum and Dodge Charger, while rear callipers were sourced from Chrysler Group mid-size cars. However, all are painted in signature Dodge SRT red. Vented brake rotors are 340x28mm in front and 302x10mm in the rear.

The anti-lock braking system (ABS) was uniquely calibrated for the Dodge Caliber SRT4’s performance to maintain directional stability without wheel lockup.

Standout Powertrain

The five-door hot-hatch Dodge Caliber SRT4 is capable of a 0-100 km/h time in approximately six seconds. How is that possible?

The latest SRT model gets its motivation from an all-new World Engine produced at the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA) facility in Dundee, Mich. The World Engine is a family of fuel- and emissions-efficient aluminium four-cylinder petrol engines co-developed by DaimlerChrysler’s Chrysler Group, Hyundai Motor Company and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.

“The all-new 2.4-litre turbocharged World Engine delivers a level of power you’d expect from a V-8,” said Pete Gladysz, Senior Manager – Powertrain, SRT. “With the engine in the all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4, we were able to take advantage of tried-and-true performance improvements, such as increased cylinder-head flow and higher compression ratio, as well as newer technologies such as Variable Valve Timing (VVT).”

To achieve its high-performance Dodge Caliber SRT4 configuration, the aluminium 2.4-litre World Engine block is specially machined for increased water and oil flow. Unique cast pistons travel within iron cylinder liners, and are cooled by oil squirters and affixed to forged connecting rods for high-revving reliability.

Tri-metal bearings are used for the connecting rods and crankshaft for high-performance durability. A unique oil pump/balance shaft module keeps the reciprocating assembly well-lubricated and running smoothly. An external cooler keeps oil temperatures within a safe range.

The aluminium cylinder heads are also a World Engine casting equipped with unique high-temperature exhaust valves. VVT uses computer mapping to open and close intake and exhaust valves at optimal points for efficient combustion and flow. The camshaft and micro-alloy steel crankshaft, shared with the non-turbocharged 2.4-litre World Engine, are fully capable of handling these high-horsepower loads. Free-flow induction begins with an all-new air cleaner assembly that draws through an opening in a front chassis cross member for proximity to cool air. The air is then compressed in a TD04 turbocharger specially configured for the engine’s inlet and outlet packaging requirements, and sent through an intercooler to a 57mm throttle body.

Fuel is provided by a high-flow pump feeding injectors developed specifically for the Dodge Caliber SRT4. An all-new engine management system designed by Siemens – the Global Powertrain Engine Controller – keeps the powerplant running at maximum efficiency and power.

On the exhaust side, spent gases exit through a free-flow system that features two catalytic converters – one immediately downstream from the turbo, and another further along the 7.5cm (3 in.) single-pipe exhaust system. Using two catalytic converters in this way provides significantly better “light-off” for decreased emissions. As with the previous-generation Dodge SRT4, the exhaust is tuned for maximum performance while meeting U.S. federal, international and European noise regulations.

Power is transferred through a dual-mass flywheel to the six-speed manual transaxle. The dual-mass flywheel consists of two flywheels sandwiching internal springs that are specially tuned to reduce noise and vibration. The Getrag DMT-6 six-speed transaxle, equipped with a limited-slip differential for uniform side-to-side power transfer, is capable of handling up to 407 Nm (300 lb.-ft.) of torque.

Torque is sent to the Dodge Caliber SRT4’s front wheels through equal-length halfshafts sourced from Chrysler Group mid-size cars for their larger size and power-handling capability.

Dodge Caliber SRT4 Safety and Security Features

Following are safety and security features in the all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4:

• Advanced multi-stage front air bags: offer enhanced protection for a range of occupants and are designed to identify the size of an occupant in the front passenger seat based primarily on weight
• Anti-lock braking system: equipped with electronic sensors that help prevent wheel lockup, the ABS system offers improved steering control under extreme braking and/or slippery conditions
• Auto-reverse sun roof: an advanced sensing system that automatically engages and reverses the sun roof to the open position if it senses an obstacle
• BeltAlert: sounds a periodic chime to alert the driver and all occupants to fasten their seat belts if they have not buckled-up
• Brake Assist: the vehicle senses a panic brake condition and applies maximum braking power, providing the shortest possible stopping distance
• Child seat anchor system (ISOFIX): this system helps ease the installation of compatible aftermarket child seats
• Constant For
ce Retractors (CFR): a mechanical device in each front seat belt is designed to mitigate the force of a seat belt according to the load or force exerted on it. CFRs are engineered to force-limit the belt system and gradually release seat-belt webbing in a controlled manner during a severe impact
• Electronic Stability Programme (ESP): aids the driver in maintaining vehicle directional stability, providing oversteer and understeer control to maintain vehicle behaviour
• Enhanced Accident Response System (EARS): in the event of an impact, this system makes it easier for emergency personnel to see and access occupants by automatically turning on interior lighting and unlocking doors after air bag deployment. The system also shuts off the flow of fuel to the engine
• Height-adjustable seat belts: allow passengers to lift and lower the shoulder belt to a comfortable level. Encourages seat belt usage by offering a more comfortable fit
• Knee bolsters: the steering column, lower instrument panel and the glove-box door are reinforced to protect unbelted occupants during frontal impacts. They both restrain and position the occupant properly and enable air bags to work effectively
• Remote keyless entry: locks and unlocks doors, and turns on interior lamps. If the vehicle is equipped with a vehicle-theft securit
y alarm, the remote also arms and disarms that system
• Seat-belt Pretensioners: during a collision, impact sensors initiate front seat belt pretensioners to immediately remove slack from seat belts, which reduces the forward movement of an occupant’s head and torso
• Sentry Key® Engine Immobiliser: utilises an engine key that has an embedded transponder with a pre-programmed security key code. If the correct key is not used, the engine will shut off after only a few seconds
• Supplemental side-curtain air bags: standard side-curtain air bags extend protection to front- and rear-seat outboard occupants. Each side air bag has its own impact sensor in order to autonomously trigger the air bag on the side where the side impact occurs
• Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM): this advanced system monitors tyre pressure and alerts the driver to improper tyre pressure conditions. Low pressure on any tyre illuminates the amber warning indicator in the instrument cluster

Street- and Track-tested Quality

The all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4 was designed and engineered under the Chrysler Development System (CDS), the comprehensive, coordinated and disciplined product-creation process that improves quality and speed-to-market while reducing costs and encouraging practical innovation in new vehicles.

CDS emphasises systems engineering, design and up-front planning to avoid time-consuming and costly trial-and-error methods, or changes during the later phases of the product development cycle. With CDS, all product and process planning is
completed and fully integrated before production tooling begins.

Dodge Caliber SRT4 development also encompasses actual conditions, both on the street and on the race track. To simulate real-world conditions, the Caliber SRT4 will have logged nearly 3.2 million customer-equivalent road kilometres (2 million miles) by the time vehicles begin appearing in dealerships.

To ensure its track-ready character, extensive durability testing of the Dodge Caliber SRT4 has been undertaken at the Firebird Raceway in Phoenix; Texas Motorsports Ranch in Fort Worth, Texas; and Nelson Ledges in Garrettsville, Ohio.

Process, Productivity Key to Manufacturing Excellence

The all-new Dodge Caliber SRT4 is built at the Chrysler Group’s Belvidere (Illinois, USA) Assembly Plant on the same assembly line with the Dodge Caliber S, SE, SXT and R/T models.

Previously the home of the Dodge Neon, the plant recently underwent a multimillion-dollar upgrade to prepare for Caliber production. A new body shop and other upgrades are part of a total program investment of $419 million that was announced in Ja
nuary 2005. The robotic body shop can build the Dodge Caliber SRT4, Caliber and potentially three other vehicles with no negative impact on production. Robots can make necessary tool changes automatically within cycle time, in about 45 seconds.

For Europe and other international markets, the Dodge Caliber SRT4 will be available beginning in late 2007.

Dodge Supercars Brand

Dodge sold more than 1.4 million vehicles worldwide in 2005. With a U.S. market share of 7 per cent, Dodge is the fifth-largest nameplate in the United States and the eighth-largest nameplate in the automotive industry. The Dodge global portfolio includes a range of cars, trucks, minivans and SUVs. From Honda press, new 2007 Acura RDX Entry Premium SUV TURBO, made its production debut at the New York Auto Show. RDX combines Acura’s first-ever turbocharged engine with the breakthrough Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD™), for sports sedan-like handling in a SUV package supercars.

“The all-new RDX is an exciting entry to the Acura light truck lineup for 200
7,” said John Mendel, senior vice president, auto operations. “The RDX’s innovative powertrain coupled with SH-AWD provides this SUV with excellent fuel economy and outstanding performance.”

The 2007 RDX is aimed at high-energy urbanites that spend the work week in the confines of the city, and then decompress on the weekends by getting away from it all. Regardless of where they go, these drivers expect the ultimate in responsiveness, control and adaptability.

Built on a new global light truck platform, the RDX concept was first designed in California and then developed in Japan. Besides its precedent-setting engineering features including Acura’s first turbocharged and intercooled engine and the first adaptation of a SH-AWD™ system to an SUV, the RDX also offers Acura’s first standard 18-inch wheels and tires.

True to form for 2007 Acura supercars, the RDX incorporates a class-leading array of sophisticated electronic technologies that are seamlessly integrated to keep its passengers informed, entertained and in touch. The RDX also introduces new safety technologies based on the fundamentals of Acura’s “Safety Through Innovation” initiative.

As 2007 Acura’s first Entry Premium SUV, the RDX was the focal point of the development of a special powertrain that would blend 4-cylinder efficiency and 6-cylinder power. The ideal solution came in the form of an innovative new variable flow turbo (VFT) that delivers an unusually broad powerband with little or no lag in throttle response. The RDX is equipped with an all-new 2.3-liter DOHC 16-valve in-line four-cylinder engine with i-VTEC valve control that combines Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) with Variable Timing Control (VTC). With the variable flow turbo working in concert with i-VTEC, the RDX delivers strong power and torque, excellent fuel economy and very low emissions.

Rated output for the RDX engine supercar is 240 horsepower SAE net* at 6000 rpm. In terms of torque, the RDX has the highest output of any engine in the Acura lineup, with 260 lbs.-ft. of torque SAE net* at 4500 rpm. The RDX is expected to return an EPA-estimated 19/24** City/Highway mileage, while meeting strict CARB LEV-2 ULEV and EPA Tier-2 Bin-5 emissions standards.

A 5-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift is standard for this supercar. The electronically controlled drive-by-wire throttle and transmission work together to execute shifts, resulting in exceptionally quick and smooth gear changes. The transmission can function as a conventional automatic transmission or, at the driver's option, can be shifted manually via steering-wheel-mounted paddles.

SH-AWD™ is standard in the RDX to maximize available traction while improving handling balance and responsiveness. SH-AWD™ is Acura’s patented all-wheel drive system that distributes the optimum amount of torque not only between the front and rear axles but also between the left and right rear wheels. The system’s direct yaw control helps reduce understeer to enhance steering accuracy and add to total cornering power.

Responsive handling is further aided by fully independent front and rear suspensions. The MacPherson strut front and trailing arm-type multilink rear systems are tuned for compliant control, and assisted with front and rear anti-roll bars for flatter cornering.

Standard Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with traction control further enhances controllability and grip. The RDX exterior supercars styling further emphasizes the SUV’s sporty athleticism. It has a taut, muscular presence with standard 18-inch wheels and tires that work together with large wheel arches, aggressively raked body sides, a steeply raked windscreen and a short rear overhang. A unique rear hatch, finished with a replaceable panel to reduce the cost of accident repair, allows the rear of the body to smoothly transition to the rear bumper. This permits a more custom look and also eases the act of loading and unloading cargo.

Inside the 2007 RDX turbo supercars, the front-seats feature a high “eye point” that provides a confident field of view. The 3-passenger rear seat has a 60/40 split-folding capability and, when folded flat, significantly expands the load area and increases the cargo volume to 60.6 cubic feet of storage. There are multiple interior storage compartments positioned throughout the interior, including a large (and lockable) dual-level center console located conveniently between the front seats that can securely accommodate a briefcase.

The Acura 2007 (turbo)-RDX features an array of electronic features that set it apart from the competition. 2007 Supercars -JNH Ferrari 360 Modena

Ferrari 360 Modena is one of the hot supercars in 2007. This ultimate 2007 supercars has elegant and sporty design in exterior or interior details. JNH makes this supercar more sporty than ever.

(From J.N. Hephaiss)
The sensitive task facing us when choosing to work on 360 Modena supercars was whether we could put our own spice on the world’s most complete design, which was Pininfarina and whether we could improve functional-wise what Ferrari’s craftsmanship mastered in ground effect.

JNH’s long standing policy is not to work on anything if it’s only for dress-up purpose.

Our motto is to use our magic to better the original supercars design and function. We have conducted numerous testing with stock car and what we witnessed there was disturbing. In 6th gear and extremely high speed situation, front under cover for which our modeler has nothing but praise was ripped apart and the fear of front lift ran through test drivers mind.

Extensive testing led us to this conclusion: 360 Modena supercar is better left as it is. What we should do is respect the stock body and refine it JNH way.

Utilizing Venturi Tunnela and respecting Pininfarina design, specially on the side view --- What JNH proudly presents are: Front canard that’ll be separately installed, Splitter which looks perfect on smooth side view and Rear under diffuser that effectively handle air from the bottom of this body's supercars. 2007 -Hamann Black Miracle- Ferrari F430

Supercars, Ferrari F430 is one of the brilliant vehicles ever. Not only the 'look' and technology, the supercars present, but also its hot performances . 2007 'Hamann Black Miracle' makes F430 supercars be more sporty.

(from Hamann Press Release)
This supercars, Ferrari F430 is an eye-catching vehicle. The “look“ as well as engineering technology presents many similarities to motor sports racing. In the latter instance, most vehicles here feature a catchy paint finish in “warrior look”. HAMANN MOTORSPORT now offers the mid-engine Ferrari a special outstanding design that equally provides a racing car look standing out from the crowd. It’s called “Black Miracle“ and will be responsible for great deal of turned heads.

An individual entrance thanks to
Black Miracle design. HAMANN’s “Black Miracle“ designed black car body via a foil suggests the appearance of a primary base coat versus a ready-finished lacquered vehicle. It leaves an impression as if the entire car body is covered in velvet. Here as well, comes an idea directly from motor sports racing scene where motor covers are often finished in black matt to aide drivers with glare reduction. The “Black Miracle” design by HAMANN acts similar to a black hole absorbing all light. For the “light at the end of the tunnel” HAMANN provides additional parts following customer preferences in brilliant red, orange or yellow finish. The contrast between black matt and each “luminizing” addition is unquestionably mesmerizing especially for countless admirers at Ferrari meetings. Such an individualized F430 entrance has never been seen before!
